One of the many advantages of being a member of the American Helicopter Society (AHS) is the opportunity to attend inspiring talks by industry leaders. Here is a brief review of the presentation given by Scott Drennan, Director, Innovation.
The 2017-2018 inaugural event of the AHS’s Montréal-Ottawa Chapter was held on October 12. Scott Drennan, Director, Innovation at Bell Helicopter, presented the company’s innovative vision for revolutionizing the field of vertical lift by encouraging new ideas. His message: To try bold new approaches in all areas relating to helicopters, and not to fear failures, as they can be rich sources of learning.
Mr. Drennan delivered the same presentation to Pratt & Whitney Canada. The event was a resounding success, drawing some 500 guests.
The AHS’s Montréal-Ottawa Chapter was founded in 1987, just after the opening of the Bell Helicopter site in Mirabel, and has greatly contributed to advancing the region’s aerospace industry ever since. Its mission is to promote discussions and the sharing of knowledge by actors in this field, through activities like Scott Drennan’s presentation.
